Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ March 23rd, 2010
FOR TODAY:
March 23rd, 2010…
Outside my window…it is hard to see out my window because the rain has filled the tiny holes in the screens with water!
I am thinking…about starting a blog idea for Thursdays on my blog like Wordless Wednesday or Simple Woman’s Daybook with a Mr.Linky in the hopes that it will catch on and other will join in!
I am thankful for…my husband who puts up with me even when I am cranky for no reason and mad at him for nothing he has done!
From the learning rooms…the children are creating and doing their own search a words and word scrambles.
From the kitchen…not sure what is for dinner tonight, I do know that there are 3 Easter Baskets filled with candy that are calling my name! But NO! I am behaving!
I am wearing…a comfy pink velour jumpsuit since we are in for the day.
I am creating…5″ x 5′ Lap Blanket project which I thought I would be done with by now. We met with our group and stitched the squares for 2 blankets together this past Sunday. Now, along with 2 of our home school family friends were are going to do one on our own. Our girls did not get the chance to stitch the original two together and would like that opportunity so we are going to do one of our own so that they may participate in that step of the process.
I am going…to work on planting our seeds to start growing our veggies in our bay window. That way we will hopefully have some healthy plants to plant in our garden outside in May.
I am reading…Happiness Key by Emilie Richards. I finally finished Gone with the Wind last week and was so irritated with the ending. Now I am on to something a little lighter. I have read most of Emilie Richards books and enjoyed them. My favorites are her Shenandoah Valley Quilt Series.
I am hoping…to lose a total of 15 lbs in 5 weeks. I am down 5.5lbs in 12 days. Even though putting that number out there seems disappointing to me, it is on schedule for losing 3 lbs a week. I guess I was just hoping to do better than that! Instant gratification would be nice!
I am hearing…the wind whirling and whipping around the house. It has been very windy for the past 18 hours or so.
Around the house…buttons are strewn everywhere from our button bin. Ava loves to dump them and scoop them with her little cups. Also throw them and scatter them which Mommy disapproves of! 🙁
One of my favorite things…happy children. Not that I see those too often. It seems more like someone is always squawking about something! Not enough of my time, energy and attention to go around!
A few plans for the rest of the week: hopefully the painting in the basement family room will be complete on Wednesday and then Joey and my dad can begin cabinet work. Walk n Talk on Wednesday with Shana, James and the Giant Peach play at Tykes Theater with the kids on Friday, not a whole lot else outside of the usual Mom’s Taxi Service.
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…

Don’t worry. I would not post a recognizable picture of you without first asking your permission. I do have a nice shot of your face and such but would not post that without permission. Plus, for this I just wanted to show off the blanket stitching and progress. Tops of heads are usually pretty safe!

Renata,
I can e-mail you some of them if you would like. Not sure how many I actually have but I took a whole bunch that day. I am happy to hear you enjoy my blog. It has been a great outlet for me so far.
