The Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ April 6th, 2010
FOR TODAY:
April 6th, 2010…
Outside my window…”Gray day, everything is gray. I watch, but nothing moves today.” Or how about “Rain, rain, go away, come again another day”. Or if you were Ava this morning “It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is snoring. He fell out of bed and bumped his head and couldn’t get up in the morning!”
I am thinking…about the million and one things I feel like I need to do.
I am thankful for…Access to a treadmill in our basement. I barely find the motivation to use it, I can’t imagine I would ever exercise if I had to go to the gym!
From the learning rooms…Jayden is excited to be working with money, which is helpful because his focus is waning so it is hard to keep him on task.
From the kitchen…Even though it is after Easter, we are shooting to color eggs today. We were so busy getting the family room finished that other things have gone by the wayside.
I am wearing…a comfy pink velor jumpsuit. It is perfect for this dreary day that we will spend inside.
I am creating…5″ x 5′ Lap Blanket project that will come to completion very soon. I am excited for Chloe to get the chance to participate in stitching it together this time.
I am going…to attempt to prepare a few blog posts today. I went all of March and April blogging everyday and now I feel guilty because it has been a few days since I have posted anything. I have many thoughts on my mind and photos to share, but so little time to make it all come to fruition.
I am reading…Happiness Key by Emilie Richards. I am almost done with it and looking forward to its sequel, Fortunate Harbor coming out in June! Then it is my understanding she will be writing a third, and final novel in the short series.
I am hoping…that you, other blog goes will check in with my blog on Thursdays for my new theme of It’s the Little Things Thursday. Last week, I posted my first official one with a Mr. Linky for all of you to join in with me. So check it out this week, join me, and spread the word!
I am hearing…NOTHING!! How did I get the two older ones to do their school work so quietly today? Oh, I know, I separated them! Chloe is in her room and Jayden is at the homeschool table.
Around the house…we inherited a floor balance beam this weekend from some fantastic neighbors we have! Having just finished the Family Room renovation, it was perfect timing. I have to admit, I did not envision a beam in that space, but we are excited to have it and will enjoy using it!
One of my favorite things…the quiet time to read a book. Something I seem to get very little of these days!
A few plans for the rest of the week: Walk n Talk with Shana, Chloe has a gymnastics competition on Saturday, Ava is participating in a developmental study on Wednesday morning, Friday I finally get my hair cut. Then the usual Tazi service and home school tasks!
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…

Unfortunately in Rochester the view from our windows is often gray drab skies. But because of the early, glorious sunny, record breaking temperatures, my spirit has been soaring. Along with this past Sunday being Resurrection Sunday; seeing newness of life springing up from what at first glance would appear to be dead, encourages and reminds me of the new life in Christ that I have. There are so many things in this life that I don’t understand. The miracle of a baby developing and growing in the womb; living breathing inside and then coming forth into a new world. There is all the science knowlege but still the miracle of it all working together. Then there’s the gorgeous trees in bloom and fall comes with the leaves changing colors, and finally the tree loses its leaves and goes dormant. Once again there is the science of it all and yet I still can’t wrap my head around it. For me it is another miracle of new life.
