Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ April 13th, 2010
FOR TODAY:
April 13th , 2010…
Outside my window…I see blue sky and sunshine and hear the birds chirping. The grass is newly aerated and seeded so hopefully in a couple of weeks we will have a fuller, greener lawn.
I am thinking…that I despise using my computer right now because the mouse is broken and it is such a pain to navigate without it.
I am thankful for…my children. Each one with their own unique way of navigating this world. I only hope I can do them justice as their mother.
From the learning rooms…we are reviewing the 7 continents this week and preparing for a unit on the ocean and a state study on Florida. *We are beginning to do some bird watching. This morning we saw what we believe is a Common Grackle in the backyard. It looks like a blackbird with a very black body, but it’s head is iridescent/metallic blue.
From the kitchen…one of our favorite’s..BBQ chicken on the grill. We love the Dinosaur BBQ sauce!
I am wearing…black capris and my favorite black sweater.
I am creating…5″ x 5′ Lap Blanket project . In my mind anyways! It has been almost 2 weeks since I have knitted anything. I am planning on kicking into high gear next week and trying to spit out a whole bunch of them! Chloe has been knitting away and I think she has 2 squares done out of the 16 or so we need to make.
I am going…to strive for higher ground and a little perspective as to what really matters in the long run; both for myself and for the kids.
I am reading…Bel Canto by Ann Patchett. I am only a few pages in but it was recommended to me and I am also participating in a book discussion about it so I think I better kick it into gear and get reading!
I am hoping…as I always do for the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; the courage to change the things I can; and the wisdom to know the difference.
I am hearing…the bubble of the fish tank and lots of sneezing. Not sure what has Jayden all stuffy and sneezy today!
Around the house…it is nice to have the big family room project done. Everything is back in order which is just the way I like it! Next it will be on to outdoor projects like weeding, and landscaping. We are joining the rat pack and having our lawn sprayed this year instead of trying to do it ourselves.
One of my favorite things…sleeping children. After a long day with them, sometimes it is just nice to have a little peace and also to know they are happy, snug and safe in their beds.
A few plans for the rest of the week: going to see Wicked on Wednesday with my mom, Ava’s preschool is taking a field trip to the gymnastics gym where Chloe goes.
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…

It’s funny that we bordered her with pillows while she slept… We were such “new” parents then…lol

What a precious picture of my Sweet Pea Granddaughter Chloe!! I am so thankful to the Lord that she is being raised in a loving, supportive home with both of her parents.
