The How To’s For Book Clubs: Favorite Books For Girls
Welcome to the eighth day of 10 Days of The How To’s For Book Clubs. Today’s list was created with girls in mind.
Now before you start to jump about labeling genders, I didn’t create this thinking that boys wouldn’t enjoy these books too, but these books either have female main characters or seem like they may appeal more to girls than boys. As I said yesterday in my Favorite Books For Boys list, this was just a way for me to divide up the long list of books I had compiled.
Please feel to check out my other book lists in this series as I am sure both boys and girls, and people of all ages can appreciate many of the books listed on each list: Elementary Age Book List, Favorite Books For Boys, Popular Children & Teen Book Series, and A Book List of Children’s Classics & Other Favorites

A tidbit of background information from Wikipedia:
“The first volume, Little Women, was an immediate commercial and critical success, prompting the composition of the book’s second volume, entitled Good Wives, which was also successful. Both books were first published as a single volume entitled Little Women in 1880. Alcott followed Little Women with two sequels, also featuring the March sisters: Little Men (1871) and Jo’s Boys (1886). Little Women was a fiction novel for girls that veered from the normal writings for children, especially girls, at the time. The novel has three major themes:” domesticity, work, and true love. All of them are interdependent and each is necessary to the achievement of a heroine’s individual identity.”
