The Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ May 11, 2010
FOR TODAY:
Tuesday May 11th, 2010…
Outside my window…it is sunny for the moment, but I know the rain is coming…again.
I am thinking…that being gone for 2 1/2 weeks has left me feeling as though life has passed me by. I have been home just over a week and I still feel like I can’t catch up.
I am thankful for…my husband and children who went out of their way to make Mother’s Day special.
From the learning rooms…there are so many projects going on at once. We are finishing up Shell Identification, our Ocean study and Florida Unity Study as well as working on art projects with our shells and getting our Bird Identification into full swing!
From the kitchen…oh dear! Was I supposed to plan dinner for tonight? Not quite sure what is going on so it is a good thing we meal planned for this week! This list will tell me what we are having for dinner, I think it might be pancakes and strawberries!
I am wearing…pjs as I am rolling out of bed to get this done and then rushing off to a farm field trip with Ava’s preschool. The kids are looking forward to seeing the cow milking machine.
I am creating…a few different things. My biggest project is working on a book that I wrote for Ava. It is a spin off of One, Two, Buckle my Shoe using dinosaurs. I made a post about it that I will post after I get some other things together for it. I want to put it in slide show, YouTube video form with the kids singing the song and images with the new words that I made up before I post it here. It is quite the undertaking, but it will be a special keepsake for Ava as she gets older.
I am going…to a farm where they have a Robotic Milking Center.
I am reading…Red Lily by Nora Roberts. It is the 3rd book of her “In the Garden” trilogy. Once I am finished I really need to get to my book reviews as I will then be 4 books behind!
I am hoping…to have a productive day (in my opinion), which is difficult to do!
I am hearing…Ava knocking on her door. She is ready to get out and moving for the day, as well as Muffin spinning in circles because she needs to be let outside to potty.
Around the house…things need to be cleaned and organized. I spent part of Mother’s Day doing a year or more worth of filing. Now that the end of the school year is nearing I need to work on getting the old stored away and start planning what is in the cards for next year! Also the everyday mopping, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning all need to get done as well. I guess it will all still be here tomorrow if I don’t finish today!
One of my favorite things…happy children. I hate the whining variety!
A few plans for the rest of the week: hopefully walking with Shana as I believe it has been a month now. I have an orthodontist appointment today to remove my spacers and put my bands on. Chloe has a meeting to work on her talent show act. Then there is all the usual “Mommy Taxi” service that I do.
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…

She photographs so well. Her dinosaur train almost looks like she has a tail. BTW – I love the video/slideshow idea…
That will be fun.

My granddaughter as always is adorable, BUT sorry guys I can’t resist commenting on how she is posing. It appears as if she is trying NOT to pee her pants. That is what brought such laughter from me.
