When the hedgehog is curled up into a ball it is very painful to touch. But when it is relaxed and not feeling threatened it is smooth to the touch.

Loved all the photos they made me feel like I was a part of your day. Interesting info on the cute looking hedgehog. Ava and the cat seemed to really like one another. Beautiful butterflies!!
