Bouncy Bands for Wiggly Kids
Do you have a wiggly kid in your house? If you are anything like us (we have two) the answer is YES! We have struggled for years with our son in particular. From the time he was little sitting still was an issue. He would bounce with playing games, roll around and run around while being read to and hop from couch cushion to couch cushion while doing flash cards. I’m quite certain had I gone down that road that he would be labeled ADHD.
For this reason homeschooling was a good option for him. It has allowed us to work with his active needs. One thing we tried was having him sit on an exercise ball. Not only was it good for his posture but it would allow him movement while sitting at a desk. Unfortunately for him it turned into excessively high bouncing, hand pounding on the ball etc. Needless to say it was VERY disruptive to the rest of us.
Lucky for me we found Bouncy Bands. They have offered us a less disruptive solution to the wiggles in our house.
Even my high energy daughter has taken to sitting with the band on her chair while reading in the evenings. Sometimes she just isn’t ready to settle in and this allows her the opportunity to sit quietly while still moving and reading!

What Are Bouncy Bands?
Bouncy Bands are simple resistance bands designed to go around the legs of a chair or desk. They allow wiggly kids an outlet for their fidgets in a controlled and quiet manner.
Inside are the band, the support pipes (which come in blue or black), and a simple instruction sheet.
When to Use Bouncy Bands?
Or the easier question, when NOT to use them? Because really they are great all the time for wiggly kids!
- reading time
- dinner time (great for fidgets at the kitchen table)
- computer time
- school work time
Where to Find Bouncy Bands
You can order these wiggle busters directly from the Bouncy Bands website.
Another place you can order them is on Amazon. There are many options to choose from with blue or black support pipes.
