Wordless (almost) Wednesday ~ House Finches
While we were away in Florida this past April we had some guests take up residence behind the light on the front of our house. I did not want to move the nest so I let the house finches lay their eggs and have their babies. It was a fun chance for the kids to check out the birds as they grew. Only problem is that it was a tough spot to take decent photos. We thought there were 6 eggs (of which I could not get a picture). Then we could count at least 4 birds, maybe 6.
When I went outside to check on them two days ago there were only 2 birds in the nest. I looked around for the other two but could not find them. Before I got a chance to take a picture Ava yelled about seeing a bug and scared the two baby birds. Chloe and I got to witness their first flight out of the nest! But then there was only an empty nest to take a photo of.
