July 3in30 Week One
Goal One: Change the “tone” in our home.
This one is my important one for this month, and possibly the months to come. We are doing reasonably well with this. When one of us (including me) has a not so nice tone, we “rewind” and try again. Now the kids know what is coming when they have a nasty tone, and they sometimes roll their eyes, but the tone changes quicker every day! My hope is that the rewinds will be become less and less due to all of us thinking more before we speak.
Goal Two: If you take it out, put it away.
Ahhh, this is going to be a tough one it seems. We all have a bad habit of walking away from messes. It is kind of like the sink full of dishes from a couple of months ago. I am trying to stay on top of reminding everyone that if you have taken something out, you should not walk away from it until it has been put away.
Goal Three: Clear out from this past school year.
Unfortunately, I have made NO progress here. Although, in my defense we did start July on a holiday weekend! My plan is to kick it into double time next week on this. Starting with finding a bin for everything this weekend and then next week emptying our binders in the homeschool room.

Daughter, you know the old saying, “If at first you don’t succeed, try, try again.” A good word for every day, “persevere” View your goals as an opportunity for growth. James 1:4 “Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” From the love chapter 1 Corinthians 13:7 “It (love) always protects, always, trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.”

LOVE your first goal…all too often, it’s easy to change our tones….and I have been guilty of that due to frustrations in the past. I keep a copy of Homeschooling with a Meek and Quiet Spirit in sight at all times, now….it’s a gentle reminder to me…..and I see such a difference in our family….and slowly, it’s becoming me….not forced…just me.
Stick with your goals! You’re doing a great job!
