Goal One: Extension from July – “Tone”

This week I am not sure if I, personally, took 1 step forward or 2 backwards. While at the gym having a discussion with Chloe, I took a not so pleasant tone with her. She later pointed it out and asked me why. My excuses we were plenty, but the bottom line is that I just jump to a certain tone in anticipation of the response I am going to get from her. 🙁 Not so great, I know. My take on this is going to be the one step forward one because I am now acutely aware of it, and hope to start with a better tone the next time around. The change needs to start with me. If I have a better tone to start with, I can only hope that she will use a better tone in return.

Goal Two: If it takes less than 1 minute, do it NOW!

I still don’t feel as though I have had much time to focus on this goal. I am wondering if I shouldn’t make the month of September a recap of the “housekeeping” goals I have listed over the past couple of months. With my planning done then, and school under way, maybe I will have more time for all of us to focus on those types of goals.

Goal Three: Prepare for 2011/2012 school year

In keeping with my goal of using the Planning/Filing/Crate System to plan all 36 weeks of school in advance, I have been hard at work this week. I bought, printed, organized, filed, and lesson planned in Homeschool Tracker Plus for our Chemistry this year. We finally received the money we were waiting on so I was able to order our Mind Benders for Critical Thinking as well as Chloe’s Teaching Textbooks PreAlgebra. I also started to organize our two semester Explorers Unit for history/geography.

My goal for this week is to have the Explorers Unit done, as well as Africa and Mind Benders. If I get through those I will work on First Language Lessons.
