What I Thought:
This book could not have come at a better time! While I am not usually a self-help book kind of girl, I had come to a place in my life where I was looking for some perspective. Between the usual chores of a household and children, and the added pressure of homeschooling three kids, topped with trying to create income from home using my blog, I was at my wits end. Much of what Tricia does is speak of her own life, and suggest more general principles surrounding the act of structuring your life.
Everyone’s situation is different and I really found a sense of peace in things she spoke of such as taking extended periods of time to write a couple of paragraphs due to the interruptions from her children. She is a busy working mom herself, yet she takes the times to create things that encourage and support other moms. Even if you only took away one or two of the many tips she offers, you would find yourself moving in the right direction. This book is not just great for work-at-home moms, it is flexible enough that so many of the home flow and organizational options are worthwhile whether your are a WAHM or SAHM, or a full time out of the house mom.
Balanced by Tricia Goyer is an inexpensive, universal gem for all mothers. Instead of judgments, find encouragement and a kindred spirit in Trica Goyer. Get tips to help you along your path, read stories about how her life isn’t so different from yours, and find encouragement on your journey.
