My children all love to watch videos. While we have Netflix and the kids like to search YouTube for things of interest, each of these methods comes with drawbacks. With Netflix it can be hard to find educational content and with YouTube you never know what your children will stumble into! How We Use The CuriosityStream Educational Video Subscription in Our Home
Since my children have an affinity for video entertainment, I have worked hard to find quality content videos to put before them. With CuriosityStream I know that they are getting quality content videos with NO ADS! Therefore I allow them free reign to choose the videos that interest them. For each of my children the interest is different.
1. Each Child Watches Videos of Interest
My 9 year old is horse obsessed and therefore jumped right in to watching Wild Horses of the Marshes as soon as she had free time. She also has things like The Rise & Fall of T-Rex and Hummingbirds Jewelled Messengers now cued up for her next moment of free time!
Having this easy and quality content library of videos available helps me to be confident in giving my children the freedom to pick and choose without worrying about what ads will pop up and if the content is going to be worth it. Now when the kids have some down time and are looking for something to watch, they hop on CuriosityStream and pick something out!
2. Assigned Videos
I have been using the videos as a supplement to our curriculum in many areas! For example we are covering earth science this year for my 4th and 7th grader. This looks awesome! I have a documentary lover and your right that its difficult finding documentaries on Netflix and monitoring You Tube. I’ll be looking into this for sure!
