Learn Something….about Jayden
Here is another revelation in my quest to “Learn Something“:
Jayden recently decided to take a real stand about something. It started with his underwear. Suddenly, any underwear with characters on them were no longer acceptable. He only wanted to wear the white ones. Apparently, characters are “for babies”. On that note, I went out and bought him “big boy” boxer briefs. At first he did not want to wear them because they were not white. I had bought him a multi-pack with different shades of gray and black in it. After some coaxing from Daddy, he has decided that he loves his new “big boy” underwear after all.
This new phenomenon has also extended into his clothing as well. We had to go through his shirts and give away anything with characters on it. Even Super-Man is not allowed! He does however LOVE his Buffalo Bills apparel! I was lucky enough to get a whole bunch of nice Bills t-shirts and a couple of sweatshirts for $1-$2 at the Salvation Army. In fact, he has a separate pile in a drawer for all of it. That Bills pile is usually the first pile he chooses from when getting dressed. Apparently for Jayden, age 7 has been the time to draw a line in the sand about what makes him a “little boy” and what makes him a “big boy”.

Love this! Great way to capture the picture! Someday you’ll appreciate having this revelation to look back on! Yay for big boys! (And not JUST because Nathaniel benefited from Jayden’s new big boy status by garnering a whole new collection of fabulous character shirts! – ha!)
