Lego Math: Teaching Multiplication & Division
Math is one of those subjects that puts fear in the hearts of parents and kids alike! One way to make it easier (and more fun) is by using hands-on teaching techniques such as using Lego Bricks to demonstrate and manipulate math concepts. Multiplication and Division are great two great concepts where Lego Math can be used to help kids understand the relationships and techniques for successfully completing multiplication and division problems.
While I love the idea of hands-on learning, and my youngest enjoys being able to touch and move things, I don’t want to have to come up with the activities on my own. In walks The Brick Math series which uses Lego Bricks to help teach math concepts such as fractions, multiplication, addition, division, and subtraction. {More to come like Geometry, Measurement, Ratios, and Statistics}

A Look Inside These Lego Math Books
From the basics of finding factors and creating fact families to multiplying 2 digit by 2 digit numbers, Teaching Multiplication Using Lego Bricks walks your student through each thing step by step. Teaching Division Using Lego Bricks begins with division facts and works up to two digit division and beyond! These books offer both detailed examples, and practice problems to work through.
One great benefit of these books is that they are done in short, easy to implement sections. You can do the sample questions with your child, or let them have a go on their own.
Each Lego Brick Math Book has not only the step by step (with large color photos) text, but a separate Student Edition you can purchase that has the worksheets and directions in an easy to use and follow format so kids can do the work right in them!
I highly recommend you BUY THE STUDENT EDITIONS! While with the fractions book we were able to print and create papers for her to do the work on, it is SO much easier to have the corresponding Student Edition for them to write and draw in!
