We all know that as kids get older, their school work gets harder and more involved. For us homeschoolers that can be intimidating for many reasons. Maybe you feel unqualified to teach it, or don’t have as much time to devote to helping your child with the work. For those reasons, and many more, you may want to considering live online classes for homeschooling high school.

Live online classes can offer your student access to teacher assistance and courses that you aren’t prepared to teach. They can also help build independence and responsibly in your teen, helping them gain such skills as time management, preparation and planning, as well as interpersonal skills.

About Big River Academy’s Live Online Classes

Classes through Big River Academy meet once per week for 90 minutes in a live classroom powered by Adobe Connect. Teachers hold a one hour office hour each week to be available to students who need extra classroom support. Students are given one week to complete assignments given by the teacher in their live classroom.

Below you will find a break down of all the classes offered at Big River. This is only a suggested course of study (and doesn’t include all the classes they offer) and can be adjusted for your child’s needs. They offer more than 50 courses! I was pleasantly surprised to find they not only offer multiple languages (German, Italian, Latin, Spanish), but multiple levels of them as well! Plus there are many elective courses as well as SAT and ACT Prep courses!

Once attending a class students can find all their course information in one place! There is a calendar for ease of keeping track of assignments, an online discussion forum, assignment lists, project descriptions, a place for them to view their grades and more!
