Our Experience with Sparketh

We are not new to Sparketh’s online art lessons for kids. This site is a resource we have used throughout our years of homeschooling in various ways.

Using Sparketh for the Art Challenged

It is no secret that I am art challenged. Because of this I have always had to find thorough art tutorials for my kids. Sparketh offers a wide variety of both stand alone projects, as well as full courses. They have very beginner options as well as intermediate and advanced options. So even if you aren’t art challenged like myself, you have tons of challenging options to choose from.

1. Sparketh is easy to navigate because it is broken down in multiple ways:

• By Skill Level – Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced
• By Type of Activity – Technical, Activity, Project, Creative, Challenge
• By Subject – Art, Baking, Drawing, Painting (yes you read that right, they have baking tutorials too!)

This makes it easy for you to find a project or course that suits your needs. Then you can simply add it to your child’s Student Login and they are good to go!

2. Student Logins

Sparketh not only offers you a Parent/Teacher Login, but they include Student Logins as well. Now Parents have the option to add up to two student logins. That means you can have two children doing different tracks or courses and their progress will be tracked individually! 

3. Quality Lesson Videos

Each Sparketh tutorial is done in a quality video format. They are clear and easy to see. The lessons are broken down into easy to do parts, plus you can pause at anytime and go back if you need to. We found it was good to watch a large chunk of each video to see where the project was headed, then go back and watch/pause at each step as we went.

4. Fun for the Whole Family

This year I had the opportunity to start off my grandson’s 5th grade homeschool year with some art fun with Sparketh’s online art lessons! I packed up a bunch of my art supplies and headed over to their house. I had perused the projects available ahead of time and narrowed it to a few options.

I then went through them with him and he chose what he wanted to do. It didn’t take long for my daughter to decide to get in on the fun as well! The two of them enjoyed making their ice cream creations together and are looking forward to the next “art day with Gigi”.
