Review: Gabby’s Stick-to-It-Day ~ Sheila Walsh
About the book: Gabby’s Stick-to-It-Day
Gabby is a little guardian angel with a big job to do! Watching over Sophie is hard work, but Gabby knows that God wants her to stick to it.
Based on Galatians 6:9, this second title in Gabby’s series follows little Sophie on her quest to to kind things for her family. But each of Sophie’s good intention results in a great, big mess-and a busy guardian angel as Gabby tries to keep the little girl from harm.
Gabby, God’s Little Angel, flies to the rescue as Sophie attempts to help others but has a little trouble sticking with things. Sophie tries to be helpful by washing the family dog for her mom, but she gives up when she’s the one who ends up all wet. She then tries to be kind by reading to her little brother, but he has plans of his own, which include a splash of cereal right in Sophie’s face!
When Sophie is ready to quit once again, it’s up to Gabby to encourage her to keep trying and to teach her what the Bible says about perseverance:

What I Thought:
I was one of the bloggers who was lucky enough to be on the blog tour for Gabby’s debut in Gabby, God’s Little Angel. Once again I have to give an A+ to the illustrator, Natasha Kuricheva! The colors and images are inviting and oh so telling of the story! From the expressions on Sophie and Gabby’s faces, to the details of spaghetti everywhere, the illustrations are fabulous!
There is yet another fantastic message to our children in this one about starting what you finish, even when the going gets tough! I love how Sheila uses tasks that are relatable, like helping out by washing something, in this case the dog, or helping out with a younger sibling. We all know those younger siblings don’t often cooperate, but it can be a big help to Mom or Dad if the older sibling can occupy the little one, even if just for a few minutes! Gabby’s Stick-to-It-Day is another winner of a children’s book for Shelia Walsh!
Disclaimer: I want to thank Sheila Walsh, Tommy Nelson, and Litfuse Publicity for supplying me with a copy of this book for me to review. While I received this free of charge in exchange for my review, my opinions are my own, and have not been influenced in any way.
