Simple Woman’s Daybook

FOR TODAY:

Tuesday, January 4th, 2011…

Outside my window…the sky is gray, the birds are mostly gone.  It is a cold winter without the snow right now.  The kids are itching to get some decent snowfall so they can make snowmen, forts, and go sledding.

I am thinking…that I am so tired of Chloe’s snotty attitude.  She can be so snippy and defensive.  Every time Jayden makes any noise or comment she is jumping down his throat about something.

I am thankful for…the freedom we have here to choose homeschooling for our children.  Even though NY is one of the stricter states as far as regulations go, we can still easily homeschool our children.

From the kitchen…the smell of pork chops and gravy in the crock-pot are filling the air.  Joey would call it “comfort food” and say, “It makes me happy!”.

I am creating…a whole bunch of new plans for creating things in this “New Year”.  To start with I am creating a Kodak Photo Book for someone’s anniversary that is coming up.  I am also spending much of my time creating the photos and stories for my 365 Project.  I hope to have 365 photos with short stories to chronicle 2011.  Then I plan to have it printed into a book as a lasting memory.  I was also thinking of trying out a knitting pattern, a mother at the gym said she had printed a couple of easy ones for me to try.

I am reading…nothing at this moment.  I have plans to read Sophie’s Choice as my 2011 Resolution.  Then after a trip to the library yesterday I found a series of books by Jennifer Chiaverini called The Elm Creek Quilts Novels that looked interesting so I picked up the first two.  We will see if I get to them, or if I even like them when I do!

I am hoping…to add to my 37lb weight loss of this past year by another 10lbs.  If I can lose some more, but cannot easily maintain it, then I will be happy to be at the weight I am at.  I have been this same, lovely, 37lbs lighter for 5 months now and easily maintaing it, so hopefully I can do the same with a few pounds less!

I am hearing… the thump, thump, thump of Oscar’s foot on the floor as he turbo scratches his ears!  Muffin had never done the amount of scratching that he does.  He is forever digging at his ears and groaning!

Around the house…a few changes have occurred.  We moved my desk out of our bedroom and added it into the Homeschool Room.  Our bedroom feels so much less cluttered now, and now I have my own work space for my lap tap.  Being upstairs left the children unattended, which means they get unruly, which means my day is crazy.  Staying down with them all the time meant no blogging for me, which means I am crazy.  Being able to pop in and out of my tasks on the computer, while being able to stay in the same room with the kids is a much better use of my time and energy.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Homeschool Ice Skating, sharing dinner with the Smith Family, Mary Kay facials at my mother’s,  Zoo Class, and of course taxi service for the children.
