Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ April 27th, 2010
FOR TODAY:
Tuesday April 27th, 2010…
Outside my window…the sun has risen and poked through the shades, telling me to get up and get out of bed!
I am thinking…about how much the kids and I have accomplished this school year. I am looking forward to getting up and out now that the weather is getting nicer. We are excited to keep adding birds to our Bird Watching Journals that we are compiling.
I am thankful for…having the library as such a great resource for books. We have recently gotten some great books out on birds. Here are 3 of our favorites:
1. Backyard Birds of NY by: Bill Fenimore
2. Birds of NYS by: Robert E. Budliger and Gregory Kennedy
3. Draw 50 Birds by: Lee J. Ames and Tony D’Adamo
From the learning rooms…the kids saw a black vulture (or 3) up close and personal while on a field trip with their dad last week! Even he was impressed by them!
From the kitchen…who knows! We are too busy exploring our outdoor surroundings these days!
I am wearing…clothes, as I think it would be pretty bad for all if I went naked! Except maybe Joey! 😉
I am creating…or should be creating my 5″ x 5″ squares for our Lap Blanket project .
I am going…to buy a large collage picture frame for a photo project the kids and I are getting ready to start. It will be the first thing to go up on the walls in our newly finished Family Room!
I am reading…more than I usually do. I just finished Blue Dahlia which is the first book in the In the Garden Trilogy by Nora Roberts. It is the first Nora Roberts book I have ever read. Look for my Book Review post coming later this week to find out what I thought of it.
I am hoping…to sit down and get my book reviews done. Now that I took the time to actually read books, now I need to find the time to write about them!
I am hearing…the dryer running yet another load of laundry!
Around the house…are many pairs of funky new socks. We went to a flea market with my parents and my mom wanted to buy the kids some small trinket. Each one of them was excited about socks! Chloe got froggies on hers, Jayden different sports themes and Ava copied me and picked puppy dogs on her socks!
One of my favorite things…a glass of wine at the end of a long day.
A few plans for the rest of the week: plans? What are those? Oh yes, those things I run my life by! We are hoping to find and identify some more birds, shop for our frame, and take it easy since this is the end of “Spring Break”!
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…
