Weekly Wrap Up ~ First Week After the Holiday
Monday: Our first day back went so much smoother than I expected. It was nice that we did not have to run off to any activities so we were able to get back to a”school” routine. We are back to our year of learning about the Presidents of the United States. This week we learned about James Madison. I know, I know, I am more than 1 Quarter into the school year and only have 4 Presidents done! January and February will be more focused on this task. We know all of their names in order thanks to our trusty songs, it is just a matter of learning a little bit about each one.
Today was Ava’s first day of participating in an official soccer program. She was so very excited to don her shinguards, soccer socks, and cleats!
Tuesday: Another day at home to plow through some book learning. We also enjoyed an afternoon of playing Famous Landmarks Bingo. It is a great way to introduce different landmarks throughout the world to the kids.
Wednesday: The first Storytime of the New Year with Mr. Mike was filled with short board books that had lots of movement in them. One of them was called Clap Your Hands. The kids like wiggling, dancing, jumping etc. Then we enjoyed a nice walk and lunch with Poppy and Gommy.
Thursday: Every Thursday we enjoy our time at Homeschool Ice Skating. It is an hour and a half of exercise, fun, and social time with our friends. This week I brought the camera along and took some pictures.
Friday: This Friday brought Ava’s once a month Zoo Class. The topic this week was bugs. From ants to tarantulas they got to see a whole bunch of fun bugs.
