What People Say About You
Leave a ONE WORD comment that you think describes me. It can only be one word. No more. Then copy and paste this on your wall so that I may leave a word about you. This should be interesting…
When faced with this question, how do you think people would respond for you? How would you like them to respond? Do you think how you see yourself is how others see you as well? When I put this out there for me, I was not surprised by the responses I received, but I may have been just a little disappointed. Here are the responses:
- REAL
- Genuine!
- (Ok, the two above me stole my top answers but luckily I can think of a hundred words) : Refreshing!
- Intense
I know none of these are bad descriptions, and all of them are totally accurate, but sometimes I wish I were something else. One of my friends got “spicy”! Now we all know that is NOT me! I have been called many things in my life, and lots of them not so pleasant. The one thing that I do which allows me to live with myself every day is to be true to myself. All throughout my life there has been unpleasantness in which I was ridiculed and falsely labeled, in the end I was happy to come out the other side feeling like I had always been me, even if people did not like who I was. So despite feeling like there are more desirable words like “fun” and “happy”, I will take “real, genuine, refreshing, and intense” any day. The reason for this? Those words do describe me, and most of the time, I like me.
If you have a word, feel free to leave it in your comment.

It says just one descritive word BUT I’m your mother and I feel I can take extra liberties. Ha! Plus, I choose to use positive words not to puff up but to encourage you.
resourceful, determined, intelligent, inventive, conscientious, intuitive, reliable, competitive but in the sense of desiring to achieve your best

Hi Heidi,
I don’t really know you all that well, but this game sounds like fun, so here is my word for you: solid. I think by that I mean trustworthy, grounded, intentional, committed to your causes, strong, self-contained, thoughtful, smart. Just my “first” impression of you.
I know what you mean about wanting words like fun and happy. I would love to be one day called playful, spontaneous, joyful, even content, peaceful, loving…
So, what’s your word for me 🙂 ?

Renata,
Playful and spontaneous, joyful and content all sound like wonderful words! I think content is the only one I could use for myself! I am definitely more on the rigid than the loose and carefree side!
If I were going to choose a first, immediate word that comes to mind to describe what I know of you, it would have to be introspective. I think that you, like myself, spend a lot of time analyzing yourself and your actions, trying to do things “right” or “better”. I am not so sure we are “go with the flow” kind of people! 🙂
Thank you for reading my blog and putting yourself out here by posting a comment. I appreciate all the interaction that I get here.
