August 3in30 Week 3
Goal One: Extension from July – “Tone”
I am finding myself adjusting my own “tone” more often now. If I start out nice, they tend to respond nicer as well.
Goal Two: If it takes less than 1 minute, do it NOW!
I decided that since we are 3 weeks in and I just can’t get this one “officially” off the ground, that I am going to call it a loss for this month. When I reevaluate for September I will consider adding this one in.
Goal Three: Prepare for 2011/2012 school year
In keeping with my goal of using the Planning/Filing/Crate System to plan all 36 weeks of school in advance, I have continued to be hard at work this week. I printed, organized, filed, and lesson planned in Homeschool Tracker Plus both for our Explorers Unit as well as for Mind Benders.
I had set out to also finish Africa this week, but I was never even able to start as my life was sidelined by a very sick dog! So this coming week I will definitely get to Africa, as well as First Language Lessons. Then I will still have Chloe’s Teaching Textbooks PreAlgebra to deal with whenever it comes.

Well you are definitely doing well on the planning. I hope one day I can plan that far out. We are so eclectic right now I have been just planning weekly. Great job on the tone. That is one I need to work on as well. Sorry goal #2 isn’t working or at least you don’t think it is. I am sure you are constantly tidying up and doing stuff.

I think your goals are coming right along. And “practicing” #2 every now and then could still count as working on your August goal but you can tell yourself you are prepping it for September. 😉
I like your #1. I need to add that one to my list.

Daughter, the main thing is to persevere, persevere. Satan tries to discourage us saying, “you will never accomplish this; see you keep failing”. Focus on the number of times you have accomplished your goals rather than on when you haven’t. Love you!!!
