About Blue Skies Tomorrow:
Lt. Raymond Novak prefers the pulpit to the cockpit, but at least his stateside job training B-17 pilots allows him the luxury of a personal life. As he courts Helen Carlisle, a young war widow and mother who conceals her pain under a frenzy of volunteer work, the sparks of their romance set a fire that flings them both into peril.
After Ray leaves to fly a combat mission at the peak of the air war over Europe, Helen takes a job in a dangerous munitions yard and confronts an even graver menace in her own home. Will they find the courage to face their challenges? And can their young love survive until blue skies return?

What I Thought:
Let me start by saying that I have not read the first 2 books in this series so I was a little leery of feeling as though I might be missing important details. I was pleasantly surprised to find that if the other two books hold some of the same characters, it was inconsequential to this book. From the beginning of the book I was hooked right in to the relationship growing between Ray and Helen. I immediately was rooting for their happy ending.
Much to my dismay I was totally derailed by the middle third of the book. The story got so bogged down with military details that I had a hard time wanting to continue to pick up the book and finish it. On top of that, it was also distracting to stop and start from Helen’s world, and back to Ray’s world considering how very different things were during that time. Luckily for the book, I am a sucker for wanting to know how things end (to the point where I will sometimes read the end first). Then luckily for me, the last third of the book picked back up.
By the end, all loose ends were tied up and I was left with a relative feeling of completion and closure to the story lines in the book. Although, I would say that this book did not make feel as though I wanted to rush out and read the other two in the series.
I want to thank Litfuse for the opportunity to review this book. I received a free copy of the book in exchange for an honest review. My opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.
