Homeschool Conventions ~ A Link-Up
What conventions have you gone to and how did you participate? I have never actually attended any conventions. I was considering one in PA in June.
NorthEast Homeschool Convention in Philadelphia
June 23-25, 2011
Valley Forge Convention Center, King of Prussia, PA
Featured Speaker: Dr. Susan Wise Bauer and many more
www.northeasthomeschoolconvention.com
Who would you like to hear? Susan Wise Bauer & Jessie Wise
Have you participated in any convention meet-ups? Not yet, but I would love to do so in the future. Now that the kids are getting older I feel as though I have an easier time leaving them here and there.
What is your best convention tip? This one I am sharing from Lisa, at Golden Grasses: Wear comfortable shoes, take a water bottle, set a budget!
Leave my a comment here with your link about conventions or comment about your thoughts on conventions, as I could use all the input in making my decision about attending or not! Then head on over to Lisa’s post at Golden Grasses to link up, and also check out her post, “How to Plan for a Homeschool Convention”, over at The Homeschool Village

Hi I am stopping by from the HHP. I’ve never been able to attend a convention, however I would love to sometime! We’ve been homeschooling for 5 years, I think it would be great to hear the speakers and put my hands on some new material! 🙂

I just went to the Southeast convention last weekend. It was wonderful!! Not only were the speakers great, but I had the opportunity to speak with representatives from the various curriculum vendors that I’m planning on using next year. I had a few questions and concerns, and they were able to make me feel completely at ease about the decisions I had made.
Following from HHH.

I’ve been to a few conventions in VA and enjoyed each one. They are worth the trip and its so nice to be surrounded with great curriculum to look through, hear wonderful speakers and meet other like-minded families. Plus, it’s always a riot to see so many vans and 15 passenger vans in the parking lots at homeschool conventions ! 🙂 Thanks for linking this post up to NOBH!
