I ♥ Faces is taking a week off from judging photos, but instead wants to focus on a charity they feel strongly about.  The charity is Soles 4 Souls and you can read about it below:

About Soles 4 Souls: Soles4Souls is a Nashville-based charity that collects shoes from the warehouses of footwear companies and the closets of people like you. The charity distributes these shoes free of charge to people in need, regardless of race, religion, class, or any other criteria. Since 2005, Soles4Souls has given away over 7 million pairs of new and gently worn shoes (currently donating one pair every 9 seconds.) The shoes have been distributed to people in over 125 countries, including Kenya, Thailand, Nepal and the United States. Soles4Souls has been featured in Runner’s World, Ladies’ Home Journal, National Geographic’s Green Guide, and The New York Times. It has appeared on CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, BBC, CNN and thousands of regional news outlets across North America. Soles4Souls is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS and donating parties are eligible for tax advantages. Anyone can join our cause, and we need.

Now for the fun part!  We can choose any photo, collage of photos, or multiple photos that we want.  I have two in mind with totally different looks and stories behind them.

The photo above was taken at a Talent Show in 2008.  A group of older children in a homeschool program that Chloe attended painted their feet and sang a song using their feet as the “people”.  It was inventive, cute, and funny!

The photo above of Ava is one that I took on our recent vacation to Florida.  I was just telling my dear friend Shana that I was hoping I ♥ Faces would do a foot challenge so that I could use this photo!  Now, I know this week isn’t a challenge week, but what better “Barefoot” photo to use than this one!  Ava had just unburied herself from the “sand tomb” she had been sitting in.  She sat for at least 30 minutes in her “tomb” before she arose from the dead and starting moving about again!
