Online Digital Music Production Course

In this self-paced course your students get a music industry expert as their teacher! Music industry veteran Brent Daniels takes students on a deep dive into modern music production!
The Digital Music Production course covers topics like:
- MIDI sequencing

- digital audio recording
- editing up through: effects, automation, and the mix
Brent leads students step-by-step through the production process he uses making music for Marvel Studios, Netflix, Activision, Epic Records, and more. Brent’s passion really shines through in his lesson videos. He is having fun himself and the excited feeling comes jumping out to you as you watch!
All of the tools needed are available for free (minus needing to have a computer with headphones or external speakers) and introduced as the class moves along. Students receive links and are instructed on how to access the different tools.

Assignments & Quizzes
Following each lesson there is an assignment and a quiz.
Students are given an assignment which usually encompasses a few hours of work or practice pertaining to what they have learned in that lesson.
Then the quiz is designed to review terminology and major concepts to help ensure students have a grasp on what they just learned. The quizzes are auto graded and allow students to retake the quiz once.

Have you ever heard of a Digital Music Production course for kids? I certainly hadn’t. While my children are not musically inclined, we know so many who are passionate about music. I love that a unique class like this has become accessible and affordable for homeschoolers.
Brent makes these skills manageable for even the most beginner student (even us that are not so musically gifted). I found the course fascinating myself! While I didn’t go through and do the assignments and quizzes myself, I found it so interesting to learn about and see/hear how music and sounds are created with amazing digital tools like the synthesizer, sampler, groove box and drum machine.
2. Learning Valuable and Versatile Skills
This course is designed to give students a fundamental understanding of the modern music production process. At the end of the course students have a solid understanding of the process and tools required to produce music in a variety of ways.
They can use their skills to do things like:
- recording a band
- recording their own songs
- writing music for movies and tv
- podcasts
- doing sound design for video games
