When given the opportunity to review two print issues of The HomeMaker’s Mentor, I wasn’t exactly sure what to expect as I am unfamiliar with the site and their products. My first impression…it was like sitting down with your best friend’s scrapbook! I felt like I had seen or tasted something great and then was sitting down with my friend who was sharing their methods/instructions/recipes with me!

To a career woman I would seem to be the typical stay at home mom (that most find to be “different” from them), and to many traditional housewives I think I may fall short as well. I do stay home, as well as homeschool our children. I do put dinner on the table every night and keep our home clean. I don’t however enjoy cooking, so my meals are simple and not all made from scratch (No pie crusts have been made by these hands!). I also don’t like to, nor can I barely sew a stitch. I am however, learning. I am learning or rather have learned to knit, as well as crochet. I tried my hand at quilting, but seeing as it involves sewing, I was pretty unsuccessful. I say all of this to you so that you may grasp where my perspective is coming from as I write this review.

These two Homemaker’s Mentor Print Issues are packed with so much information! One of the things that jumped out at me right away was how detailed many of the articles are. For instance, the article Preserve With Dehydration is 13 pages long and includes so many tips and guides to help even the totally clueless like me be successful! This is one of the things I plan on trying to do myself to see if it would be useful to us in our daily life!
