Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ March 29th, 2011
FOR TODAY:
March 29th, 2011…
Outside my window…the sun is slightly shining, more like a haze coming through the clouds. There are less birds about in the yard because I need to get out and fill the feeders.
I am thinking…about our up coming trip to Florida, of which none of us can wait for. We all need a little R & R and some warm weather and hot sand!
I am thankful for…Chloe’s seemingly quick bout with the “flu” that we have been passing around. She was down and out yesterday feeling exhausted and achy. This morning she is feeling better and hopefully that is it for her!
From the learning rooms…to see what is going on in our “Homeschool Room” check out all my Hip Homeschool Hop posts.
From the kitchen…we are looking forward to taco dip tonight. The kids because they really like it, and me because Joey prepared it last night so all I have to do is heat it up!
I am creating…a couple more crochet squares for our Community Lap Blanket project of which we are getting together this weekend to sew them together. After that I will go back to knitting squares for the blanket I am working on for Chloe. I would like to conquer my first pattern at some point in the near future as well.
I am reading…The DMZ by Jeanette Windle. I never knew that DMZ stood for Demilitarized Zone until this book. Politics and military are FAR from any interest to me so I am not sure how much I will enjoy the book. Although I am 30 pages in or so and I am interested to see what happens next.

I also just received How To Bo God’s Little Princess by Sheila Walsh because I was accepted as part of the blog tour to promote the book. This is my first blog tour and I am excited to be a part of it. Look for my review post after April 11th as a part of the tour! I will also be doing a giveaway of the book along with my review. Plus a special review of the book from my 11 year old daughter will be included in my review post!
I am hoping…to find some more reading motivation soon. It seems as though I have managed to catch up in other areas but have not found the drive to get back to reading more.
I am hearing…the hum of the kids computers, and the crunch of the dogs chewing on their bones. Today is an at home work day for us so we are busy plugging along through our school work.
Around the house…things are a little cleaner in general due to the new chore charts we started last week. One of the things on Jayden’s list daily is to vacuum the floors, and one of the things on Chloe’s list daily is to vacuum one carpeted room. Then in addition to having to pick up their rooms in the morning, they have to pick up one other room in the evening before they head to bed.
Quote for the week…Life is a daring adventure or nothing. -Helen Keller
A few plans for the rest of the week:truck in for recall and oil change/tire rotation, storytime with Mr. mike, Mall lunch with Poppy & Gommy, Daisy Girl Scouts, ice skating, usual taxi service, dentist cleanings for the kids
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…
Sometime soon we will be enjoying the Florida sun again!

Your Florida picture brings back soooooo many wonderful memories of that trip. Just like you and your family, your father and I can hardly wait until we are basking in the Florida sun along with extended time with all of you. It is a joy and blessing in our lives.
