The Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ August 3rd, 2010
FOR TODAY:
August 3rd, 2010…
Outside my window…the sun peaks through the cloud cover that is slowly creeping in. It is 90 plus degrees today and we are expecting rain.
I am thinking…that I am feeling a little disconnected from a couple of my close friends. I know life gets busy, mine and theirs, but I don’t want to use that as an excuse. I need to find a way to reach outside myself and extend a hand to these friendships that are so important to me.
I am thankful for…the internet. I realize, now that my home internet is down, how much I rely on it. The internet allows almost anything to be at our fingertips. Whenever I have a question I quickly look to google to find me the answer.
From the learning rooms…our official new school year will begin in 4 weeks. Normally by this time in the summer I am prepped and ready to go. This year, yesterday was my big jump into preparing. I made good progress and feel a little more prepared. Spelling (check), Science (check), ELA (check), Math (check), now if I could only get a handle on Geography/History.
From the kitchen…not too much as we still do not have a working refrigerator/freezer yet. The repair company is coming tomorrow. Hopefully it will be decent news.
I am wearing…a dress. That seems to be my main wardrobe these days. I started in a shirt and capris but quickly realized how warm it was going to be today.
I am creating…a super sized timeline for our homeschool room. 20-30 feet in length to become a border around most of the room.
I am reading…What did I do Wrong? When Women Don’t Tell Each Other the Friendship is Over by Liz Pryor.
I am hoping…that my dad will be happy to see this post when he checks again in the morning. He waged his formal complaint today that I have been lax in updating my blog. I have a couple of blogs in the works but they take more brain power than I have available recently. HOPEFULLY I will regain my brain power soon!
Around the house…clutter, clutter, and more clutter. Taking down, putting up, reorganizing. From closets to book shelves, bins, walls, and folders.
A quote for the week…A true friend is someone who thinks that you are a good egg even though he knows that you are slightly cracked.
A few plans for the rest of the week: not quite sure, I think Walk n Talk is on hold, Jayden and Joey are doing their football/soccer thing, Chloe is at the gym all day every day, Ava and I will attend story time, and prepare for camping.
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…

Great daybook! Loved the picture. Hope you get your refridge/freezer back soon – I’d be lost without mine. Have a great week.

Heidi, how funny it is that one: your father never wants his picture taken but so desires everyone elses and two: he would never do all the writing/blog/journaling as you do, BUT once AGAIN complains, makes statements of facts (HA! HA!) when there is nothing new on your blog. This is so your father!!! Oh well, we love him no matter what! If you ask me, I think your father loves to live his life vicariously through what everyone else is willing to do.

It would be nice if HE would comment on my blog every now and then. It is the least he could do for all the complaining he does when I have not updated it!

I am officially never wearing those pants again. Just so you know! 🙂 I’m still honored to be among “friends”, though…let’s schedule our next Popcorn & PJs!!!
