The Simple Woman’s Daybook ~ July 6th, 2010
FOR TODAY:
July 6th, 2010…
Outside my window…the sun is shining! It has been an amazing long weekend of blue sky and sunshine!
I am thinking…that I can’t wait to catch up with my friend Shana. We are plotting to take some photography classes together, hopefully this fall. It has been on my mind as I am very excited at the prospect of getting a little more familiar with the finer details of photo taking as well as hoping to get in to a Photoshop class as we both really need to become more adept with it if we want our photos to be fantastic! Tis the age of technology and we need to get up to speed!
I am thankful for…the long relaxing weekend we had spent with friends. It was our first camping trip of the season and it will be hard to top!
From the learning rooms…we are slowly continuing our search for the Benches on Parade, and the kids are still reading and writing for their biography projects. I am spending a large amount of time working out a plan for the coming year. History seems to allude me this time around.
From the kitchen…not sure what will happen for dinner tonight. We returned home yesterday and I have not done any meal planning so hopefully we can scrounge a dinner together from our food supply in the freezer!
I am wearing…half clothes, and half pjs this morning. I started getting ready for the day and realized I had not yet set this blog post in motion. So here I am, sitting at my lap top with the air vent blowing on my legs. If I take too long my legs will be frozen!
I am creating…hopefully I will be creating my book review for The Core: Teaching Your Child the Foundations of Classical Education.
I am going…over my” To Do” list in my head. There are so many things I would like to get done in what seems like a very small amount of time.
I am reading…The Girls by Lori Lansens, and The Secrect Garden. I am almost done with The Girls and then I can more fully dive into The Secret Garden, which needs to be read by this weekend for our Mother/Daughter Book Club.
I am hoping…to get our dog, Muffin, a good bath today. She is dirty and needs a good grooming as well. I told Chloe I was going to enlist her help as I hate this job! Usually we con Gommy into keeping Muffin clean, but clearly she has been sitting down on the job!
I am hearing…surprisingly not a whole lot. Joey is home an extra day because his car is at the shop and he did not get a ride to work. He must be keeping the little ones happy downstairs while I get this post completed.
Quote for the week..At the end of your life, you will never regret not having passed one more test, not winning one more verdict, or not closing one more deal. You will regret time not spent with a husband, a friend, a child, or a parent. – Barbara Bush
A few plans for the rest of the week: Story time with Mr. Mike, Walk n Talk with Shana, nails and hair on Thursday, and too many parties to attend this weekend (70th Birthday, Family Party, Book Club, Graduation Party) all in 2 days!
Here is the picture for thought I am sharing…

The Reed’s property looks awesome. So between spending time with wonderful friends and communing with inspiring creation of nature, I”m totally in agreement as to how hard that is to replicate.
